Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar near Bhavnagar district of Gujarat in India is an unique grassland ecosystem, primarilty declared a national park for saving blackbucks. Every year to escape unsuitable weather conditions, birds from Siberia, Europe and central asia flee to velvadar national park. Blackbuck National Park’s wetland, a smaller area in the southern part of the total area, attracts migratory birds like flamingos, pelicans, waders, ducks, white storks, coots, sarus cranes and painted storks to name a few. A heaven for birders, velavadar also records birds like common cranes, demoiselle cranes and raptors like certag spotted eagles and steppe eagles.
